Entering User Defined Questions for a Specific Product Category

If you want a UDQ to be displayed for certain product categories only (e.g. you want the invoice line to display a request for details of flashings but not for drills or screws), you need to setup two UDQs - the first for the process where you want the UDQ displayed (e.g. the Invoice Line) and the second for the Category File. The answer to the second UDQ will become the question for the first UDQ (e.g. the invoice line UDQ).

  1. Display the User Question screen.

Refer to "Entering User Defined Questions".

  1. In the Where field, select the process in which you want the first UDQ displayed, e.g. Invoice Line.
  2. Enter the Question you want displayed to users and select the Type.
  3. In the Lookup field, select Category File.
  4. Complete the remaining fields as for any other UDQ.

  1. Select the Accept button to save your UDQ.

Micronet redisplays the User Question screen where you should now setup your second UDQ relating to the product category.

  1. In the Where field, select Category File.
  2. Enter the Question you want displayed to users.
  3. In the Type field, select Text.

  1. Complete the remaining fields as for any other UDQ.

  1. Select the Accept button to save your UDQ.

Micronet redisplays the User Question screen.

  1. Select the Cancel button.

  1. Select the Ok button.

Micronet redisplays the Change Existing Company screen.

  1. Select FILE | SAVE to save your changes.
  2. In the Product Category master file, open the appropriate product category and enter the UDQ to be displayed to users. This is the text users will see when they are processing the transaction, e.g. entering an invoice line for that product category.

You do this by selecting EDIT | USER INFORMATION on the appropriate product category. For more information, refer to "Category File Update Screen - Menu Options".

  1. To see your changes take effect, you need to log out of Micronet and log back in.
